My Moonwalk Grey '17 Clubman

Busy weekend. Finally had the chance to install (then drive on):

1. the 18" Black Spoke Wheel/Continental DWS06 Tires w/ 12.5mm Spacers
2. the Out Motoring Heavy Duty rear-bumper load protector
3. the roof rack

The following photos are of the ‘as delivered’ wheels. They’re well made, sharp in black, just not my style (they’re also for sale). Note that they’re smaller in diameter at 225/45/R17 than the replacements at 225/45R18.

A bit tucked for my taste, spacers or a lower offset would help here.

First order of business was to clean the new wheels. I used Griots Interior Cleaner. It’s safe on rubber, water based and wouldn’t harm the finish on the wheels.

Then a coat of carnuba wax. Helps prevent build up of brake dust and makes cleaning simpler.

Final product ready to mount.

The install process - see the F54 Spacer thread for more on the spacers.

The final result… I am going to need mud flaps.

Another pre-photo for comparison, note the difference… particularly in the rear

Only been driven once prior to install- and once after- but no noticeable degradation in handling or ride.

Will post a few more pics this weekend of the rear bumper guard and my attempt adding the OE sport stripes.

Nice, riSurf. Guess I'll be waxing my rims this weekend. You've shamed me into it.

I would love to see a good pic of the "Out Motoring Heavy Duty rear-bumper load protector" on an F54. Thanks!

Hey- will take a few more when I am back in RI this weekend. In the meantime, this will have to do. The width lines up perfectly with the dimensions of the rear opening. Well made, easy to install and will be quite durable (the only harm I did to my Countryman was this area, loading and unloading beach chairs ).

I sort of whiffed on the install; I didn't seat it far enough back (toward the center of the car), so there's a little bit of an overhang. Likely imperceptible, but I know it's there...

This photo, more than the others makes me hope that Mini will release black headlight/tail light surrounds.

Well done again. Love the looks. Hopefully, more blackline will come out for the F54 soon.

How easy/difficult are the cross bars to install? Are you going to use factory attachments or aftermarket such as Yakima or Thule with them? BTW, I ordered the roof rails with my clubby (due mid-Dec) and as part of the purchase, the dealer is throwing in the cross bars. I have Yakima bike roof attachments that I plan on using.

Took about 10 minutes. The instructions are quite clear. I plan on mounting a surfboard attachment. Would note that the cross bars appear to be identical to those that I've used on all of my BMW's (which isn't surprising, seems like Thule is the OEM) and I have mounted Thule Boxes, RockyMounts and Yakima Ski/Snowboard holders on the BMW cross bars without issue. This goes without saying, but no matter which bars you use, be sure to respect the mini's weight/height limits (per the manual).

Also - $1000 OBO on the OE 17" set. Would be a STEAL for anyone looking to run a winter set and snag a set of take-off OE RFTs for (essentially) free.

If close enough, I'd put in an offer for those wheels.

Bump - put the take-offs in the FS section (even though there isn't and F54 section).
