I am interested in the convoy. I think that would be awesome! So, I think K-Town would be a good meeting spot, since I live in Heidelberg, it is not too far away. We need to work out the times also.

Why don't we meet at Vogelweh for a top off and stop again at Spang or Bitburg for another top off and to join up with the folks from the Eifel?

Just me thinking out loud.

Fellas, just a suggestion: stop by Army garrison Schinnen one your way through as it'll be the last POL stop on the way out. Dunno how receptive Esso stations will be out west...

Cheers!!

So what times are we talking about for meeting. I could not get Thursday off so I am heading up on Friday. What about everybody else? When are you heading up and back?

We can do that but it looks like our coupons are good at 28 ESSO stations in Holland. I found a great article on the Scars and Gripes web site regarding use of AAFES fuel coupons in Holland.

Linky> http://stripes.com/article.asp?secti...&article=46289

The link to the AAFES web site requires a username and password so I cut and pasted the info below:

Dear AAFES Europe Customer:
The number of Esso gas stations in The Netherlands that accept AAFES gas coupons was significantly decreased by Esso Benelux starting on 30 Sept. 1999. At that time only 18 stations accepted AAFES gas station coupons in The Netherlands. Since then we’ve added several more stations and have opened an AAFES Gas Station on the U.S. compound at Schinnen. We anticipate further changes as time goes on and we will keep this site updated with the most current information. On the right side of this page is a list of stations in The Netherlands currently participating. Click on the underlined area name or specific station name to see a detailed map showing the location of the station(s). The participating ESSO stations accept super unleaded, super unleaded plus and diesel coupons. The stations do not accept normal unleaded coupons since this grade of gas is not available in The Netherlands. We are always working to add more stations, and we are currently developing a gas card system that will take the place of the coupon program in The Netherlands. If you encounter any problems in using coupons at the stations posted, please contact wagnerr@.aafes.com.

So when is everyone wanting to head up to the Netherlands? Are we still thinking about convoying up? Just curious.

I'm heading out early to late Thursday morning. If anyone wants to join me PM your email and cell number so we can solidify timelines and meeting locations offline.

I am heading out on Friday also. I will probably leave the Heidelberg area around 0900 or so.

Work conflicts here so I won't head up until late Friday night or early Saturday morning... Probably the later. I'll return Sunday night.

No plans and no problems! I figure I'll drive around and see what's cool then look for a place to sleep...always the Mini B&B!
