12 VOLT POWER SUPPLY WIRE

Hey guys. Making an attempt to install some gauges and I need to locate a wire behind the speedo, or in another close location to the tach, that is a 12 volt supply. I have located the illumination wire...but cant find a power supply wire. HELP please.

Thanks

just check the wires that are back there and see if any of them give you 12V when you want it? be real careful of bus wires behind the cluster. in fact i would recomend not using wires form behind the speedo. the best way to install in my opinion woud be to run wires for your gauges from a power block or the battery and run an inline fuse.

What type of 12v supply are you looking for? Always on; on with key on, on with dash lights on...?
If "key on, power on", try the radio circuit or the lighter circuit. You can use a fuse-tap at the fuse box. Just don't overload the circuit!

The best way is to go through the fuse box and properly tap it. I have that documented here:
