Where can I run the electrical from engine to cab?

I've installed my Hella 500's and most of the wiring but I cannot see an easy safe way of getting the wiring for the switch from the engine compartment to the cab.

How did you run your wires?

Most people use the large grommet where the wiring passes through the firewall. This gromment is next to the brake booster. There is plenty of room to 'poke' your wires through.

Hint: Removing the cowl vent provides additional clearance. I use a piece of coathanger wire sharpened toa point. Poke this through the outer membrane of the grommet from either direction. Tape your wires to this and pull the coathanger wire along with your cables back through the grommet. Thw rubber will conform to the wiring and provide a good seal.

when you open the bonnet there is a little hole by the drivers side hinge. here there is a little rubber grommet that goes into the cab. i had to tape the wire onto a hanger and push it through. (it was easier than i thought) once through, just pull it to where you need. no problem.

Excellent, thanks guys and thanks for the pics foster200.

Second question, are you guys using the switch that comes with your lights or, if possible, are you using a toggle switch on the dash? I have one open spot for an additional toggle switch and was going to buy one from the dealer and use that rather then the big bulky one that came with the lights.

Foster200 you're going to want to wrap that wire (or run it inside that handy wire loom) so the insulation doesn't chafe and create a short.

Thanks for the guidance all - this is another project on "the list".
