I have noticed on some Minis that the lamp in the middle of the rear window flashes when the brakes are applied. Is this a computer option thing or is this something that someone did on their own. I think it really helps in seeing the brake lights. I would like to have it done on my '05 mini.

 

Do you mean the 3rd brake light at the top of the rear hatch? If yours isn't lighting, it is broken and you should have your dealer repair it under warranty.

Some of us have a modded fog lamp (in the bumper) to operate as a 4th brake light.
