yeah, your factory 3rd brake light is already an LED assembly. For a beter LED effect, purchase a clear Aero 3rd brake light....

What is trick however is that someone over on MINI2 has made a modification so that the light scans once or blinks before you brake. Looks really cool and would raise driver awareness around you

We are lucky its an LED though.....for those of us with cooper spoilers, it would be a pain to remove them to change bulbs

Hope he has understanding police where he lives. I don't have too much trouble with my clear rear assemblies without red reflectors, but a blinking brake light, especially at night is asking to get pulled over!

Blinking brake lights

I guess they aren't legal here yet, but Mercedes has them in Europe.

I kinda like this. I've seen this on a couple vehicles already. Says it's DOT for CA...that's cool.

Since you've installed it, could you give some tips on where you put it?

Does it blink all the lights or just the 3rd LED high mount light?

Hoopi i sent a PM ....

The Flasher was put behind the "3rd" brake light module and spliced the wire to oem wires. "3rd" B/light will flash and only this light, the other two b/;ights will be on all the time no flashing

Do you happen to recall the colour of the positive wire that feeds the LED bar? I received one of these momentary flashers to install in a similar fashion. With the Sport package it's very difficult to remove the LED bar display - maybe not even possible. So, I was going to splice it into the loom which is reachable from the alarm sensor box on the rear ceiling. However, there are quite a few wires in the bundle. If you could provide the color of the wire that you spliced into, I would be very thankful.

Chris
