Electrical Questions about Ian's Auto up/DSC
Questions about Ian's Auto up/DSC
I installed Ian's Auto up/DSC on my MCS yesterday. That feat alone has me jazzed! I got it all in and working correctly in about 30 minutes. I did have to do it twice, but that's due to me wanting to play with it a bit and get comfortable messing with the parts.
Anyway, I got the DSC enable/disable feature and I would love some clarification on it's use. For day to day driving I'd like it to operate as it came and then for driving school next week I guess I want it "off" ????
So do I want the light on or off? It is one of those things where on means off and vice versa to me. I don't know that I need to know how or why it works so much as I need to know how to set it for those two uses and leave it alone.
Right now, the light is on and I'm pretty sure I need to set it the other way and then next weekend when I go to driving school reverse it. Correct?
Thanks,
Annette

Now if Ian would make something that closed all the windows and roof when you lock the car, that would be cool.

Ian's circuit was the first & best mod done to my MCS to date. Like Rich said if you want the DSC to work on the street the light should be off & it should be on for track days. Have fun at driving school Annette.
Thanks guys for clarifying. I've already gotten in the habit if flicking the toggle when I start the car to turn it back on. I'll leave it for now and reset it after driving school.
I'm totally losing my nerve about driving school, but have decided it is one of those things that I need to do, especially now that I'm nervous about it.

Just installed
the auto-up tonight. Did without the DSC circuit as I have no use for it. Sweet little mod. Sooo easy and sooo satisfying. Almost can't wait for the next time I use my parking card at work.
I leave mine on in wet weather...otherwise, I run without the DSC.

Piece of cake, inferno! Just don't install it with a hammer and everything will be fine. Once it's in, you'll wonder how you ever did without it!
P.S. Or road trip to SC and I'll do it for you.

ps. I second the idea of you coming over to SC to have eric install it.
I agree with the above posts... It is not hard to install at all. Unfortunetly I am a rather large guy and getting my hands into that tight area was not going to happen so I pulled the downtubes to get it done. Still only took me fifteen minuets to do.
Very simple.

Hi
I have a few questions about this awesome add on.
maybe you can help me out before I order one this week.
1. Can I install this even if i have all the toggle switches in use?
2. Are the available units for sale (Ian's & Mcaw) basically the same?
3. Does one have an advantage over the other?
4. I read that the Mcaw you have to click twice up to make it go up
is Ian's the same way?
I'm looking for the auto-up feature only
thanks for your help
regards,
Charles

Bear in mind you should only do this should you not have any kids or animals in the car as it could potentially be very dangerous.
You can also program only the driver side for single click auto up if you wish.
Lol. Thanks
Are you going to go to AMVIV?

1nf3rn0, if you bring it to AMVIV, I'll install it for you. I organized a group buy of Ian's circuits just after AMVIV last year and installed all but 1 of the dozen we got. It takes me about 5-10 mins.
Does yours operate your garage door opener?
