Can both inside & outside auto-up modules be used together?

Has anyone installed BOTH the key remote auto up (outside car) that's available from Outmotoring.com together with either Ian's Original Auto Up module or the latest MCAW module that work from the toggle switch inside the MINI? I like the features of both and wondered if they are compatible???

Thanks for the reply! Sounds like they're a great compliment of functions.

That's great! How does the outside remote connect to the car? Does it require splicing into any wiring? Can you send or post the installation instructions?

The module availible through OutMotoring.com should work fine with any other product. From what i have seen, the remote window module connects to different parts of the car then the auto up modules. The remote module connects (splices) to 5 wires coming in from the drivers door and comunicates with the OEM body control module. The auto up modules mimic the actual window pushbuttons.

I have them both and they work together flawlessly. The outside window module takes a bit more time to install, but well worth it. I went out and got a butane soldering tool to use under the dash. This thing is great! I don't know why I never got one for all my other car electrical jobs.

Thanks for the info. The 325 I now have has this. don't understand why all cars with power windows don't. Just learned that today is my production day. Can't wait.

"why don't all cars have this" - because the sensors / electronics needed to ensure you don't squish juniors arm/head/whatever in the window, because you're too busy closing the window while chatting on cell phone, drinking coffee, etc, etc, to check if it is safe to close the window, is too expensive for MINI USA to add to the car.

Hey, that's one hell of a sentence!
