Can someone help me with 2005 fuse layout?

Hello All,

I am hooking up my new defi black face gauges finally...

I was hoping to refer to this post:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...95&postcount=8

For the fuse locations to get continuous 12Vdc, and switched 12Vdc.

(I am using littlefuse add-a-fuse devices from AutoZone.... to add my electronics)

Unfortunately, it appears that the post refers to a different year car, as the voltages are not present where they say in the post, at least for my car...

I have found 12Vdc switched.... on Fuse 32 (Cigarette Adapter)

I am being lazy, but anyone know where 12Vdc unswitched (always on) is present ? I want to be very careful about just killing the power to the BC1 so I am not sure where I should look to tap it from instead...

For the bonus round - does the the illumination signal (indicates dim the lights) go thru a fuse? If so do you know what fuse that would be?

I am mounting the defi control near the fuse box and that would be handy...

Thanks in advance

(MCS Oct 04 Build date / Model 2005 year)

Did you find what you needed?
The Bentley service manual lists fuses and their use.
F3 is 5A for clock - I would guess it is a permanent feed. But then '05 MINIs have no clock so unknown what that fuse now is.
F28 is horns which is sure to be permanent, but it is 15A. Similarly F37 is central locking, but 20A.

Thanks Ian!!

No I did not figure it out yet.

Since I am using the add-a-fuse circuit, and am adding my own fuse to 'the equation' I should be able to use the horn one....

another variant on the expression:

Too many fuses, too little time

Thanks again

Fuse 32 is not what you'd think

I do believe that more than one person has been stumped by this fuse though. I did note that the cigarette lighter locations are both powered by Fuse 32 and yes, these accessory outlets only get power when the key is on, BUT, do note that the fuse is ALWAYS powered!. The relay that allows or disconnects the power to the cigarette outlets is after the fuse. Connecting at the fuse will NOT get you switched power.
