06 DIY Alarm System

For those interested it was a breeze. From the time I opened the box to completion was around 40 min. Now I have to see what they are going to get me for the re-programming. Thanks to the guys at Classic for the kit and advise.

Did you take any pics of the process? How much was the kit? I'm thinking about doing this, so I'd be curious to know how much they ding you for. Thanks.

The kit cost 235+shipping ($8 to Houston)
No pics but can post some, the included instructions cover everything, including pics. I can scan and post later

Indeed, easy.

Hardest part is un-tape-ing a connection under the bonnet that the factory taped up to protect the wiring harness.

Dealer charged me $95 to activate it though, and wiped out all my 'programmed options' in the process. Arg.

'Only' $70 here, but they wiped out my 'unlock on engine off' - talk about annoying! Then the SA said that I must have not checked that box. HELLO, I'm ****, I check EVERYTHING. :impatient :impatient

Note: When you have the alarm programmed, check all your 'programmable' functions afterwards!

I'm curious, did any one install on a convertible? I was reading the instructions and you have to install a glass break detector right? On the instructions it show it in the roof as I recall. Are there directions for ragtops?
