There is one state in the United States where you do not have to wear your seat belt (unless you are in the U.S. Military): New Hampshire.

That's right, the nationwide click it or ticket campaign is running in 49 states.

There motto is "Live Free or Die" if it has any bearing.

I think some of the safety ***** are missing the point. Many people want to disable the belt like me because when I pull into my shop, I have to get out of the car, open a gate and drive 50-60 feet just to stop and open yet another gate.

Then, I get back into my car and drive another 70-80 feet to park in my stall at my shop.

I don't need my seatbelt connected to drive 150 feet at less than 10 mph in my parking lot.

And I don't need to listen to the stupid dinging.

Also, when I drive to work, my 11lb miniature dachshund makes the dinger ding. The weight sensor is suppose to be for 40 lbs but apparently that doesn't work.

So yes, there are many people that need to stop that incessant dinging when they legitimately don't need the seatbelts. When I pull out on a public road, I wear my seatbelt.

I've been using the chimex pieces for over a year now, it work great for my needs.

nifty little device to quiet the dinging!

I often shop at warehouse clubs and load my little convertible with boxes, including the front seat. The dinging drives me nuts! I usually have to buckle the passenger side seatbelt in the middle of driving b/c the noise is so annoying! I found this neat little device and may invest in it!

I actually have a software program where I can go into the computer and permanently delete the chime. I'll be doing it at MOTD, on the R56 it is really bad.

I think I know where I'm heading on my next day off .
Like Mark, I spend some time every day driving where I don't need or want a seatbelt and the chime is driving me nuts. We have a 12 acre place, and taking my daughter to/from the bus stop every day is just one trip (1/4 mile long driveway, then sit 5 minutes or so then back, all in all about 10 minutes in the car listening to a chime grrrr).

Exactly... in my particular case, I drive to work with my 2 dachshunds. Even if one is laying on the front seat (11 lbs) the sensor goes off. VERY ANNOYING!!!!

I’ll definitely be getting Way to fix this for me.

Maybe I should wear my seat belt, and don't get me wrong I love my 2 laptops very much but while they rest comfortably on my passenger seat I don't think they need their seat belt on. I just had to drive all the way to work with this thing dinging like crazy the only good thing is you can turn up the radio and drown out the dong. Now I'm driving searching on my phone how to turn it off so this damn dong is going to get me in an accident anyway. Well at least I'll have my seat belt on! I feel sorry for the laptops but their replaceable right?
