Shorty antenna and XM/SIRIUS

We just picked up our Mini the other day and I was looking at replacing the antenna on the car. Is it possible to use something like an S2000 antenna to replace it?? They are only like 6" long instead of the Mini's 12"+ long antenna!!

Also, what is the deal with the base of the antenna? It looks like it is a sirius/xm antenna?? Would someone mind shedding some light on it??

Same

Mine looks just like that. Works great. I like the way it looks, too.

The base is just that - the base. Gotta have something to screw the antenna into.

Factory Sirius

There's not many out there - but from what I've seen the 05 Sirius antenna from MINI is actually added on to the existing base so the stock radio antenna sits on a base of a Sirius antenna. If someone could figure out how to hack the innards of that and be able to store an XM antenna that would be superb! :-)
