Wiring Questions

Couple of lighting wiring questions

What gage wire is used in the MINI, specificly for the lighting?

Where is a good grounding location in the rear of the MINI?

And finally can anyone tell me what each of these wires does on the rear tail light assembly for an 05 MINI?

The numbering is 1 on the left with the empty slot #6.

So no one knows anything about the MINI's wireing?

Anyone have a bently manual with the 04's rear tail light wiring and can list what each is for?

Well looking at the official 2005 taillight retrofit guide on motoringfile

http://motoringfile.com/howto/

2 3 4 and 5 all just go straight across so those are all the same.

Only thing that changes is the #1 pin. So in 02-04 that is the rear fog and in 05's it is the reverse.

Still need to find a place to ground my new reverse light and find out the wire sizes. Guess once I get off work I will go digging around the boot's trim looking for a spot.

wiring

Color codes on my 2004 MCS are at this address.

That looks like a ground stud with a black cap on it in your photo. There is one in the left fender well that you can see in this photo. I added the White wire to the existing stud. As I recall the same stud is in the right side.

If you are going to wire something, You can remove each terminal from the plug, and wrap a wire around it then put it back in.
