Coding tail lights to be more bright?

Anyone know if there is any kind of coding that can be done to increase the brightness of tail lights? I have aftermarket GP3 lights and they seem fairly dim during day time.

With aftermarket lights, you kind of get what you get. Are yours the smoked lens versions? I would think those would be worse, too.

Yep, thats what they are. +1

On factory MINI lights only on emergency braking to they increase light output. Also the side markers/ turn signals kick on.

Only the housing is black. The actual LED markers aren't smoked they are just individual LED's that form the >| pattern

I have seen those and they seem very dark. We will never carry them as now we have to meet DOT regulations on any new lights offered. Most of those lights that are not will now get held up in customs or far worse, fined by distributors. So i cannot help you on those as we dont carry them. Customs is cracking down on things. Otherwise we would carry them and i could figure out the wiring and function. :(

Yes I can't lie. I've gotten comments that my tail lights don't work especially when there is sun glare on the black housing because the lens makes it have a lot of glare that drown the individual LEDs.

ECS please rescue me with the F67 wiring adapter. I need that world first taillight conversion.

My other option is to just run my rear fogs as brake lights. That pretty much resolves the issue entirely.
