Another Successful Conversion of Bi-Xenon non-AHL to AHL (in hybrid body)

However as R60 is very similar to R56 you may be interesting to follow it and use for your mods as well.
The link in the quote above provides helpful context to sort out the wiring of bi-xenons without AHL to bi-xenons with AHL (L&R lights sourced from a 2010 MINI on eBay) installed in an R58 (2015).
The rewiring was similar but not exactly as described in the thread link above -- the reason is I had the bi-xenon wiring already as well as wiring for the leveling sensors, headlight washers, and LED fog lights: the above example required extra steps to change over halogen lights to bi-xenons and to add these additional features.
  • I only needed to disable the formerly dedicated vertical aim wires and reroute them as ground wires and the LIN_ALC wire by changing the pin designations in the new AHL-capable FRM module (as described in the link above). The new AHL-specific FRM3 module: 61-35-6-827-073
However, I wanted to retain the default black fascia used by MINI for the factory non-AHL bi-xenons,
  • I used the black fascias from the non-AHL xenons.
  • The back support frame of the donor AHL lights with the modules and motors were used, and the default chrome fascia with slightly different dimensions are for sale.
  • The thinner, chrome Gatling Gun surrounds (allowed for the horizontal AHL motions) were harvested from the donor light, sanded, and painted black. The chrome "Bi-Xenon" label underneath the Xenon bulb (of the original black, non-AHL body) needed to be slightly trimmed in the left light so the bulb could articulate over a broader horizontal range of motion.

Yellow arrow: Bi-Xenon label; Purple arrow: Gatling Ring from donor AHL light
