ElectricalFor discussions regarding wiring up electrical modifications such as radar detectors, brake light mods, power sockets, and driving lights in Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs.
Starting to button up this 2008 R55 non-S after a transmission swap (and replacing SO many 2-wire connectors that somebody kludged with electrical tape, glue and hope) and have found an aftermarket wire that's popped off of something. I'd probably just try the car with it capped off but it's connected to the Valvetronic K6319a relay which worries me a bit, and my Haynes manual has none of the wiring diagrams for the Valvetronic system. The Valvetronic motor itself doesn't show any modifications that I can see so I don't think it was connected there anywhere.
Can anyone identify what this wire is connected to more specifically than "the Valvetronic relay" and perhaps speculate as to where it was supposed to go? Thanks in advance.
Note the cut grommet allowing the black primary wire out of the relay box. Wire end is loose, tied around big red positive wire
