Driving lights install question

Hello everyone,

was wondering if anyone could help explain how to actually connect the wires to the footwell module for OEM driving lights. I got the box out & accessed the casing but I have no clue how to actually connect the wires properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated

OEM kit provided 'snap on' type wire splice bits ...... I prefer to go old school and solder personally .....

in answer to your other question

^^^^ That's how it's supposed to be done, and how it is on my car^^^

But if mine were not already (partially) installed, I wouldn't do it that way. The kit is wired to turn on the driving lights with the high beam switch (that's OK with me), but only if one has pressed the driving lamp switch since the ignition was turned on last. Yes, every time one starts the car, one needs to press the driving light button to have them working in concert with the high beams. Next time the ignition is switched off, the system reverts back to the default, which is "off" for driving lights.

This MotoringFile page for the 2nd gen kit says there were some changes made to fix issues with the earlier kits including sturdier mounting brackets and larger lamps.

I always thought the lamps were physically the same. Are the lamps actually bigger, and what other changes are there in terms of wiring or operation?

The brackets for the 2nd Gen kits mounts to the bumper and radiator supports, as opposed to the hood (bonnet) of the 1st Gen kits. Also, the 1st Gen lights are post mount, where the 2nd Gen lights have a swivel joint at the base of the lights. Those two differences make the 2nd Gen lights much more stable and secure. For driving lights, with their long pencil beam output, you want a more secure mount, which the 2nd Gen kits provide.
