Replace stock fogs with LED pod and use stock switch?

Hey NAM,

I haven't been able to find an answer to this question. I have an R56S (2010) with stock front fog lamps. I want to replace them with some brighter LED pods (

).

Is it as simple as cutting off the lamps, soldering on the LED pods, and not touching the stock toggle?

Additionally, could I then relay in a light bar (placement TBD) to also work off the fog lamp switch? I don't mind if they all come on at the same time.

Any quality pod kit will include all the wiring and a toggle/rocker switch. I'd just use that and never use stock foglight switch tbh...or if you must wire it in.

Here is what I would do...

Stock fog bulbs are H8. I would get an H8 wiring kit that will plug into the stock bulb harness, and then just mount the LED pod in place of the stock housing. Don’t butcher the stock harness in the event you ever want to go back.
