Driving along, put on my fog lights. The LED at the end of the switch starts a slow and steady blinking. Turned it off, then back on and now LED no longer illuminates on the switch.

Has no affect on the actual fogs themselves, they are functioning normally.

 

:?: Would think it was a fault indication, but if the lights are working...?

 

Do you mean it didn't use to blink before? It's very odd because the wiring diagram shows the LED hardwired to the fog light (not driven by an electronics module).

 

It's odd. Never illuminated before. Found it annoying, but oh well at least the fogs worked just fine. Then it started blinking steady. Turned them off, then on. Now I'm back to no illumination at all.

 

Sounds like the LED in the switch is failing, blinking due to warming up, then off, then cooling down, then on, then warming up, etc.
They are surface mount, I think on the PCB inside the switchpack.
