NBT EVO HU upgrade question

Hi all -

I bought a 2019 F54 recently and want to add CarPlay to it.

I picked up a NBT EVO HU from a Gen3 MINI on ebay, and sent it off to be VIN coded and get the nav package/carplay apps added to its firmware by a trusted bench coding guru. I also picked up the extra antennas (Wifi and GPS), and am ready to do my install.

I'm thinking, for the first stab at this, I'm going to stick with the screen and controls that came with my car from the factory. In 2019, the 6.5" screen is actually a touchscreen now, so I figured it would do okay for working with carplay. Plus, in 2019, there is now a button for disabling the 'Smart City Brake Support/Collision Detection' systems on the screen bezel (next to the hazard light button), and none of the 8.8" XL bezels on ebay include this button.

My question is, has anyone done this particular swap before? Are there are any gotchas (besides the obvious, 'you might void your warranty')?

I'm interested to know upfront if there will be things that I won't be able to change or set, or additional coding that I'll need to do the car in order for the new infotainment system to work properly.

Can you share where you sent it to be coded?
