ELV light

good morning, I have a 2007 bmw 335i e92 coupe. I purchased the Ediabas toolset 32 software to reset the ELV light and the list of jobs part wont come up after I click an choose cas.prg. Do I have to have the cable in the OBDII port connected to the computer while the car is on for the list of jobs to pop up?

Ediabas needs to be connected to the car to know which software to use on which module and its version. I think INPA can also reset the ELV.
