Spyder Headlight with DRL Install

Hey guys wanted to do a write up on here for the Spyder Headlights with the LED DRLs from ECS tuning. I am using these in replacement of some broken headlights that I have head.

So first and foremost the ligh output is great, theyre better than oem reflectors and way better than helix projectors as well, the LED DRLs look great during the day and look amazing at night.

To wire them up you need to tap the wires that come with to the parking lights. In doing so you connect the black wire to the brown wire on the parking light and connect the green wire to the black and green wire (on the passenger side the green wire is white, not sure why)

So instead of doing a huge write up with step by step install instructions, i made a video of me doing the install and tapping the wires, i am by no means a professional and its cell phone quality so you have to deal with that but I did my best to show every step as good as I could. Let me know if you have any questions.

After rereading my post the wiring schematic seems written awkwardly. The wiring is as follows

Driver Side: Green -> Green / Black -> Brown
Passenger Side Green -> White / Black ->Brown

I installed these lights about 2 years ago. All was well until last week when the driver's side DRL went dim. It's still on, but barely. I checked the ground / other wiring and everything appears to be in order. Has anyone else encountered this?

mine did get the flicker on the drl, you have to make sure the wire inline clip to the tap in did not work it way loose, i just reclipped mine on a new section of wire and it was fixed.

My R55 has a build date of 09/09 what ballast is required to use. I assume the ones in the car won't work. It has factory Xenon.
Thanks

" For cars equipped with factory HID ( Xenon) headlights.
For vehicles with production to 9/2009 will need Ballast 63117356250"

Pull one light ok and make sure the oem part on the bottom say 63117356250

Take a picture of it and post up,

We found another company that has the same headlights by SONAR aka spyder, as the spyder ones are on backorder. Those will take some time to get in but we can get them so far, spyder has been on Back order for a while and having supply issues.
