Which adapter do you have please?

As I was thinking of buying original Carly when they had 25% off.

 

I have this one, purchased in 2014:

It is no longer available, apparently, but it's the same as any of the other generic WIFI OBD adapters.

 

The parameters I changed using the generic OBD scanner pertained to the body, ie bulb checking, daytime driving lights, dock unlocking, etc. Other engine control functions may or may not work with the generic device I would be surprised if something didn't work.

 

Well I bought Bimmercode App for $54; the codes are gone and also the flicker. the good think I wrote to the lights supplier HIKARI on amazon and they offer to pay for this : , a resistor. I wrote back and asked to help to pay for the Bmmercode app instead and they accepted the pay half of the app cost. I think it was a good deal.

 

Thank you! Good to know as I am on the fence right now between handheld and Carly for battery reset. Googled / researched and no conclusive answer.
