Can't get INPA to talk to my car!

I have a CEL I want to read. I also have the BMW INPA K+CAN cable from ecutool.com. I installed the suite of BMW software by following these instructions to the letter: http://www.sinodownloads.com/down/do...AN-install.pdf
I connect the cable to the laptop and the car, fire up INPA, lights are on for battery and ignition. I hit Shift F3 to select R56, select engine, N14, and get this error message:

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Unfortunately the data files (IPO and GRP files) that are generally available with most NCS Expert / INPA packages don't support the R56 DME modules.

However, you can still use INPA to read and clear the DME error codes though - see my reply in your other thread for the How-To.
