Electrical Mini indy mechanic and ISTA programming issues
joylove is correct, most BMW diagnosis software floating on the internet are pirated and/or cracked in some form. They still work, mind you, so if legality is an issue, you'll need to get a J2534 programmer and a subscription from the BMW TIS.
That still won't fix your problem, so the solution is to somehow source a old (and legit) copy of INPA/DIS/NCS EXPERT, but it's unlikely.
You can buy a BMW OBD II connector on ebay -- most will include some form of INPA/NCS EXPERT/SSS/PROGMAN....read the description carefully. Some are K-can only, which means they can connect to 2007 and below ONLY, some are D-can, which can connect from 2008-2013 vehicles.
These are your options, or find someone who has the appropriate adapter and software and buy them a coffee or a pizza.
I'd do it for a pizza, but I'm in SoCal.
