Light questions

1) I want to have my fogs stay on with my high beams does anybody know how to make this happen?

2) I also want my fogs to be bright white, any recommendations on the brightest whitest fog light bulbs?

3) Any info on a alternating strobe setup in my headlight housing would be awesome (ie drivers side strobe for a couple seconds then passengers and back) this would be for show use only at a car meet that I regularly attend.

IMO 6000k is the brightest white bulb. Get these as they come with a 12 month warranty http://www.sylvania.com/en-us/produc...rstar-zxe.aspx

Interestingly, there appears a setting in the FRM module (which controls the lights) which may enable "wig-wag" alternating headlamps: BEHOERDE_FL_ASYNCHRON (LAW ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE ASYNCHRONEOUS HIGH BEAMS). There is a another setting that would probably need to be enabled as well: BEHOERDENFAHRZEUG (LAW ENFORCEMENT VEHICLE).

Apparently it works on BMW models:

Note that:
a) I have not tried these to see if they work (i.e. they may need some missing switch input to turn them on); and
b) Using this on a public roadway is illegal.

would a strobe controller work on my factory high beam bulbs/maybe taillights or would I have to change those bulbs for a led set up?

And to stop any legal arguments before they start the strobe setup I wish to do will ONLY be used for show and NEVER on public roads.

As others have said, there might be a computer setting that can be updated with NCS Expert software. Somebody with NCS Expert will have to check. Otherwise, it wouldn't be possible with the OEM setup because the fog lights are directly driven by the body control module.

Alternatively, it isn't complicated to rig up a relay that bypasses the OEM circuit. You can set up a separate toggle switch where in one position the fogs operate like OEM and in the other position the fogs are turned on (independent of anything else). Study the wiring diagram in this document: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t_Retrofit.pdf

No, they won't work if they were designed for LED bulbs (they won't provide enough power to drive standard bulbs). However, they might work if you use them to drive a relay that drives the lights through a separate 12v power source.

Google for flasher module and strobe module. You'll find some units that will actually drive standard lights. For example: http://www.strobesnmore.com/Flasher-Modules.html

I wouldn't. If you want fig-wag then you need to get the module (of not possible in NCS). If you want strobes, get a strobe kit and use the controller for that. Even if the strobe modules put 12v out (I doubt it because the capacitors build up and snap the bulb for a flash), the power would need to be tapped into the factory harness and diodes in place so you don't back-feed power to the car's system, just the headlight bulbs.
