Silly question about Xenon headlight assemblies

I have a 2004 MCS, that currently has the "droopy" headlight syndrome. I poked around the assembly and tried to see if if the assembly was loose as others had stated, it didn't seem that way. I can't see anything that looks or sounds out of place. My question is, can you buy an aftermarket assembly that is compatible with the xenon kit? I am trying to avoid the expensive oem assembly or worse, a trip to the dealer as I have been there three times in two weeks for random mini problem. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

There is a sensor for self levelling, you can see the sensor/connector by turning the wheels to the left and looking inside the front of the drivers front tire. you should be able to see the sensor and conector. Check to make sure it is connected and not corroded.

Update: it's been too cold to take a look at that sensor, a friend brought up a good point, he said he went in for lower control arm service and when he got the car back he had similar symptoms that I was having , granted this was on an Audi. He said they had bumped the sensor in such a manner that it couldn't auto level and the headlights pretty much pointed straight down. I figured I would call the dealership as I have just had the LCA bushings changed, and that's when my headlights starting acting up.

The dealer said they would be happy to look at it and fix it if they had dislodged something, my worry is that the service manager is telling me that the auto leveling sensor is near the rear control arm. I am very lost now, should I be worried I'm being taken for a "loop" by the dealer? Thanks again everyone for the help.

There is one front and one rear. They are on the front left and rear left control arm.

Do I have any control over these sensors, such as twisting them to adjust the lights? Or is it like a switch as in they either are working or it is disconnected/bad?

Jack up the car and disconnect the leveler arm from the front and rear control arms. Move the little plastic arm up and down and see if your headlight is moVing up and down like nodding.

Thank you very much for the suggestion, I will try this once it's not as frigid out. When I do this, and if the headlights are nodding, is it just an adjustment thing? Sorry for so many follow up questions, I just like to learn as much as I can.

There's nothing to adjust. The test I suggested is to merely check if your input sensors is still talking to your headlight. It could be a simple disconnected leveler arm from the front control arm since you had a service done in that area.

Update: the group was of course right again, the sensor was disconnected in the front, and all is well again, thanks everyone!
