Anyone have any luck with H8's in the fogs...

...Not messing with the CANBUS?? I threw in a set of "stock wattage" (55watts) ion yellow bulbs and the drivers side won't stay on. I took it to the dealer on Monday thinking it may have had a short! Turns out it was the bulbs!! I didn't think a stock wattage bulb would mess with the CANBUS! :sigh:

Anyone have luck with a certain brand H8 not messing with the CANBUS

(For the sake of argument, I do not want to get into coding anything for the car!!)

Thanks!

I miss spoke when I said 55w, they were actually 35w! Plus, there is no fuse to blow with the CANBUS system. (as I understand it)

Has anyone tried replacing the fogs w/ PIAA H8 bulbs? I've been thinking about ordering these:

PIAA are overpriced IMO. Goto a tinting store and have them put yellow tint on the foglight housing and then you can save money by buying normal H8 bulbs.

Hoen yellow function very well. Fog lights are for the most part yellow not white. (rain, etc..)
They are so low to the ground that in my opinion putting in whites is a waste of time unless you are going for "the look" over actual function.

You are talking about headlight bulbs right? Let us know how this works. I hate my halogen bulbs.

The phone camera makes them look obnoxious. In person they look just like the headlights, but shine down and out. The headlights are more likely to blind oncoming traffic since they shine down the road. Nobody has ever flashed there high beams at me, unless my high beams are on.

I could not find those lights on Ebay or from that seller but, I did find Höen's HOME PAGE. I may have to give their Endurance (yellow) fogs a try.

I really like them. Like I mentioned earlier, I have had them over 8 months with no problems at all. in my gallery you'll see my trials to match my parking lights also.

Dumb question but is there 2 lights involved on each side, ie: the 1/2 moon running light and the full fog light?

Yea, I'm calling the top bulb parking lights and the bottom the fog. I've heard the top bulb called the daytime driving lights also.

Yep, the top bulb can be found on the Höen site as well as a W5W (Driving light). I did have some cheep Amazon CANBUS safe LED's in there but, they did not last long.

I've ran the PIAA yellow ions as fog lights in my last two MINI's. I buy them from Aaron at Outmotoring. I've had great results from them in foggy conditions and under normal conditions they give me a better depth of view along the sides of the road.

I picked up a pair of Hoen H8 Endurances and don't see a problem with them so far. Liking the yellow fogs (matching with my yellow driving lights).

Bought the yellows as well, and no probs.
Love that they are yellow and function as Fogs should.
