Sprint Booster

Hey,

I was browsing on 'out motoring' today looking for some performance upgrades for my 06 MCS, and I came across the "sprint booster". Does anyone have this installed or know anything about it's effectiveness etc?

I have it installed and frankly your money is better spent elsewhere.

There are about 1000 threads on this particular item. Use the search function.

Long story short: If you have an MCS and you plan on getting it tuned, don't bother. If you have a regular cooper and/or don't plan on tuning, and like to rev match downshifts, go for it. I have it on my '06 straight Cooper and wouldn't be without one.

I have no personal experiance with it but from reports does the same thing at a fraction of the cost. When they first came out their was a problem with fitting the plug but I believe that has been corrected.

I have a 06 modded R53 and love the Sprint Booster. No increase hp or torque, just INSTANT response!
The car jumps off the line and pulls like crazy! Stop and go driving takes a little getting use to, but overall I love it! I have the latest version with two settings.

Came across this earlier, might be of interest if you are still considering the booster.

Adding a DIY link in case you want to tackle this on your own Coops808 (it's fairly easy to install): http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...stallation.htm

I've had 3 of them on 3 S models and all 3 cars have been tuned and all 3 have had extensive engine mods. Whoever tells you it won't make a difference either hasn't actually had one or is "butt dead". I play all the time between the "Green" button and the "Red" button and "Off" and believe me, there's a difference in each setting. I wouldn't even consider not having one now.
