Electrical Cooling fan Problem
Cooling fan Problem
I havent been on here much since the Mini is my DD and I have no plans on doing anything with it however I have run into an issue and was hoping someone can help me out. The car is an 05 Cooper S for referance. The past coupld days I have noticed that car has seemed to be running hotter, I would guess around 200-205 deg based on the gauge, previously it was around 185-195. It has gotten hotter here so I have not been using the heat in the car and this weekend after changing the oil and letting the car idle the coling fans never came on and the temp got fairly high. The only time the fans came on was when I turned the AC on so that leads me to believe it is not an electrical issue with the fans.
If anyone has run into this please let me know what you did. What would really help is if anyone has a link the the service manual so i can take care of this.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Not familiar with that issue. Usually the low speed resistor goes out, but in that case the fan wouldn't turn on with the AC (unless it was on high speed.) Here is a long winded discussion of the problem and various solutions. The simplest is to replace the fan.
I don't know of a free online service manual.
