clubman reverse light not working...what to look for?

So I just realized that my one reverse light does not work. I don't have a bulb out warning light, and in fact the bulb is still in working condition. However, when I put the car in reverse, the light does not come on. I made sure the socket is pushed on securely, and ensured that the bulb is not the issue. Is there anything else I can look for before I make an appointment to drop my car off at Mini?

It is most likely the reverse switch not sure how easy it is to replace but that would be the first thing to look at.

The WDS shows it being on top of the Transmission below the air intake tube.

"my one reverse light does not work." Just checking here but you only have one reverse light, correct? My neighbors and everyone at the market, love to tell me I have one reverse light out. Then I have to explain the one reverse light thing. If that one isn't working and the bulb is fine, I agree with the switch diagnosis. From my computer anyway.

What he said. Same thing happened to me on my first (non MINI) car.

You should only have one reverse light, but if you have none and it's not the bulb, you could even try switching sockets between the two taillights to make sure the socket works.

If you have a voltmeter that could help with troubleshooting quite a bit...even a testlight would be beneficial in this case.

I realize the car only has one light, but it was not working. I ended up taking it in to the dealer. There was a bad ground somewhere along the line. They fixed it, and all is well. Thanks for all the suggestions.
