i got the module that allows you to use your key to remotely roll up your windows... i want to be able to walk to my car and have all the windows go down.. any way to mod the current module to allow this??
Dealer programmed option....on 2005+ gen1 options anyway...(this posted in gen1l
You can have all the windows and sunroof open at the same time....
Just hold down the remote wings for 3+ seconds...no module needed. Range is prettt short.
Hold down the unlock for 3+ seconds Im pretty sure. It's one of the buttons if you hold it the windows go down and the sunroof will pop but not open all the way...
I just hold the unlock (wings) for about 3 secons +....and keep holding it...
Then try the others...
Range is short....
Programming fee to chage options is usually between 1/2 hr and 1 hr shop time...so kinda $$$.

the 'wings' are the lock button on my 2005. and I had to have this option programmed at the dealership (along with DRL's and some other stuff). Mini mountain view didn't charge me to do it since I just paid $200 for a new key...
What?! I didn't know this was even an option to do. I wish it wasn't raining cause I want to go try and see if my car has it. If not, I can just go to the dealer and have it programmed? >2005 MCS
Any idea if it can be programmed to fully open the windows, and only pop the sunroof open (instead of opening the sunroof all the way)? Or perhaps just the windows down and do nothing with the sunroof?
Yes, the windows down option can be programmed at the dealer. Expect to pay a half hour of labor, so if there's anything else you need programmed, do it then. Daytime running lights, auto locks, etc.
i was told by my dealer we cant program doodely into our keys... that is supposed to be a later car feature (gen 2?)
On gen1 cars the KEYS ARE NOT PROGRAMED, but the car...
so the dealer is right. The buttons on the keys are just buttons....the programing in the car decides what to do with it.
the auto windo open/sunroof open range can be short....and if the button gets pushed in a purse or tight pants, and the car hears the command....and it is raining...big mess!!
