Need help with Driving light install!
I know there have been other threads before but none seem to address my issue. I have a 2010 cooper (base) and just got the factory driving lights. I've read the how-to on the topic posted here.
On my car, PIN 41 on the X14260 socket is Empty. The tip of the A1 branch has a adaptor that is too big to fit into this empty slot.
PIN 4 (per the factory instructions) has a thicker wire than the A1 branch but the same yellow/green color. Do I just then follow the factory instructions and connect A1 to PIN4 using the M 5-way connector?? By the way, Why is this a 5-way connector when clearly there is only one wire coming out of PIN 4 of the same color? Also, what is connector tip of the A1 branch used for, if I'm supposed to just splice the two same-colored wires together??
Any advice would be appreciated...

If pin 41 is empty, then you need to test Pin 4 with a volt meter. it should register 12v when you flick the high beams on. IF this is the case, USE PIN 4.
All 2010's and 2011's use pin 41 as the High Beam Turn on. NOW, you could have an early 2010 that may be like prior years.
I HIGHLY recommend testing the wire before attaching. You can use a cheap $5 LED style meter from your local auto parts store.

I think you're right. I actually got fed up with it and just spliced A1 to Pin 4 but this was before I read your reply. Everything is hooked up and only when I turn on the high beams, the driving lights turn on (with the switch in the ON position). My dealer tells me this is how its supposed to work. Is there any way to turn on the driving lights without the high beams being on?
I'm also assuming that since it's working as it should, I wiring went ok. Should I still be worried that it is not wired correctly?
Thanks.

I am at that same point. Can not figure out which wires to attach the 3 wire going to the control module. The lights look great on the car even if they don't turn. I need a diagram of the 2 connectors with the pin numbers on it then I can see which to attach to. No shop manual is a pain.
