I've seen it with the Amazon cheapie I got, but never with the Kiwi. I think NightFlyR got one of the 10% that work. If you're ever in Vegas let me know, I definitely could use your luck.

Well lets just say I have had almost all good luck with anything from amazon, except 1 camera battery i purchased, that 1 exploded in my bedroom and almost caused a fire, they did however replace and compensate me for it. But other then that it has been good

I purchased the cheapo ebay adapter (29.99 + free shipping) about two weeks ago. Received it within 3 days (they're based in NYC). It works flawlessly with the Torque app. No issues at all.

Joining the club a little late but not a problem.
I am absolutely in love with this thing; MINI Connected just released an update to the iOS app and it doesn't even do 1/4th of the things that Torque does.
I bought this bluetooth adapter from Amazon, The Soliport ELM 327 and have had 0 problems with it and my EVO 4G.
www.amazon.com/Soliport-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Scanner-wireless/dp/B004KL0I9I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323440800&sr=8-1
I also bought the 2 ft 90 degree cable and have it tucked up under the dash with some velcro, Again it works flawlessly. Loving it!
I recommend this set up because for a total of ($5 app + $22 adapter +$10 cable) $37 you have a complete setup

I've done a couple of searches but have not found an answer to my issue. I bought the ELM 327 from Amazon, paid $20.99 for it (what a deal). But when I plug it into the ODBII under the dash on my 09 MCS, none of the lights on the adapter light up, and my phone does not see the adapter when scanning for Bluetooth devices.
Does the ODBII in the Mini need to be "turned on" by some method, or should this adapter work as soon as its plugged in and I have a dud?

Only thing I would check is that the device you have doesn't have a power switch on it. I am using a wifi adaptor with my iPhone and it has a little power switch on it.

The ODBII port has power even without the key in. So it sounds like you have a "dud." I have read a lot of people complaining about the cheap adaptors. If you got it on Amazon they will refund you and not charge you to ship it back.

READ what the app creator says about adapters on the Torque website hie VERY SPECIFIC about them.

I'm using the $22 version and it works perfectly and provides all data.
Key to when it doesn't connect is going into the menu of the app and selecting the bluetooth device to use, after you've paired the device to your droid. I have a feeling many people just plug it in, realize it doesn't automatically connect after pairing, then say its a dud and return it. I was stumped for a good 10 minutes, but then found this in the menu and since its been selected it works everytime I plug it in now.
I only use it for data logging, as my SGII gives me IATs and AFRs, etc, and my boost gauge provides a quick vacuum update vs the lagged SGII. So for the capability, it was worth the chance at the $22 route vs the 60 or 80$ route, however much it costs.

I got the Super mini Bluetooth from China. It works great and is half the size of the mini and a 1/4 the size of the Soliport, plus it was $13.99 on Amazon with free shipping. Is there a list of the PIDs for things like the oil pressure and other things to monitor that aren't in Torque? Or is that the difference from the free version to the paid version?

I bought this bluetooth sending unit for my Mini and the Torque Pro app for the Android. I love it. It told me of a code that was getting thrown, about camshaft being over retarded or something like that. Come to find out when I searched the code it needed an oil change and clean up. So I used the Sea Foam on the car to clean it up and that threw all sorts of codes and misfires. I used the app to clear the codes and nothing has come back since, and it's been 2 weeks so far now.
I also was monitoring the Intake temp and air temp, and there was a very huge difference, so this made me work on the intake to insulate it from the heat from the engine, and i got it to drop 25-30 degrees which means more HP and MPG. So the bluetooth module and Torque app have already paid for them self. Is anyone else using this product, if so what are you using it for?

I've had a Galaxy III with the paid Torque app and the Kiwi Bluetooth adapter for about three weeks. I'm running temperature, vacuum/boost, and a few other gauges. I can't see oil temperature or oil pressure as an available sensor to use with the app. As I said I'm new to this so can anyone tell me if there is a way to get either one of these?
Thanks Greg

I have just gotten a Kiwi2Bluetooth and paid version of Torque, but i could not get it to read the boost correctly. When i set it to display BAR instead of PSI, only positive value, nothing from negative value at all.
Could any share their Torque vehicle setting and unit setting.
I have a 2009 fJCW EU version.

just go into the settings and change the readout from bar to psi, also our cars do not go into vacuum, idle is controlled by valvetronics and not the throttle plate
also this is off topic but i am seeing everyone is spending way too much money on these adapters, i spent $10 on an elm327 slim obd2 to bluetooth adapter, its the recommended adapter for torque pro and elm327 is name brand

My MINI does record both vacuum and boost. I don't know about the N18 engine but the N14 certainly does. When I'm driving and not pushing it hard, the engine is no different than a non-turbo car and, yes, I do have vacuum. When I'm hard into the accelerator and the turbo is pushing air into the intake, the gauge goes from vacuum to boost.
