Thought I would post...Need suggestions on start prob

Hey all....

Starter and battery were replaced. Both were bad. Battery was drained from the car sitting for 6 months and the starter's solenoid wouldnt engage correctly. Started the car perfectly the first time. Went around the block...shut it off and turned it back on and NOTHING. Lights come on full and bright but when you turn it to Pos 3....no cranking no clicks no nothing. So I changed the starter again thinking that it was the cause. Went out to the next day to start the car after I changed it and it started just fine. Drove it 5 miles to the auto parts store....shut it off....and then it wouldnt start again. Same issue. Now, I am thinking bad Pos or Neg lead, EWS or bad relay. Couldnt be a fuse because it wouldnt start at all. Anyone else have ideas? I dont really want to go out and troubleshoot this thing but its weird how this problem started after the starter install. Could be coincedence but the starter was a super easy job...2 bolts....2 leads...

And I guess it could be a neutral safety switch. I push the clutch in and the switch clicks..but with any electrical switch...it could sound like it works but not.....

So I tried to start it like a dozen times and it wouldnt crank. Wiggled the battery leads, pulled the relays out in the bay and reseated them and smacked the GCM. Car started right up. Drove it hard for about 10 minutes...came home....wouldnt crank again.....UGH!

I swapped the DME relay with another and still the same prob. I found that it may also be the EWS Diode/Starter Motor Control looking through the diagrams...ugh...

There is a little connector that plugs in to the clutch sensor (right behind the clutch just remove the knee bolster). Make sure its connected securely. Mine is now tied down with a zip tie because it kept falling off. Hope it helps

I checked that. Thanks though . Im not getting voltage to switched power on the starter. Slaved an ign switch...still bad. It starts whenever it wants. The EWS is wiggin out so I installed a remote start switch to the cabin so whenever the car gives me problems I just bypass all the electronics. Damn its easy to steal our vehicles....

Its really easy. Im gonna have 3 guarded toggles eventually with no key.
  1. Fuel Cut Off
  2. Ign Power
  3. Momentary Start
