2003 R53 License Plate Light LED Replacement Howto
Heres a photo step by step Howto replacing the normal license plate light bulbs with LEDs.

order a new license plate attachment frame and screws ,otherwise you will fight the corrosion.

Maybe get some of that 99 cents light bulb grease from the auto stores to reduce the rusting or corrosion.

cool job, btw, does the led bulb flickering after you turn off the engine or when use remote to open the door?

The key fob will make the lights flicker? I'll have to try that.

no flicker noted,
I'm going to look into a clear cover and maybe a chrome or stainless frame to compliment the pretty lighting , the license plate sticks out away from the boot too much, maybe that should be looked into also

I have mine bent and kinda curved away so it doesn't trap dirt underneath it as readily. I figure that's better than mauling my paint.
