Electrical trying to hook up boost gauge need help
trying to hook up boost gauge need help
i have searched the forums even before i tried to hook it up, now i am no electrician but this isnt rocket science. i purchased a prosport digital boost gauge. the wires consist of
red=12v power
black=ground
green= to sender
yellow=accessory power
i ran the wires, now the sender was not connected to anything but could not get the gauge to even turn on. i attached the red to the cig lighter, red with black stripe yellow dots, and the black also to cig lighter brown. i found the accessorry wire behind the a-pillar grey/red i think it was. i turned the car on got nothing, turned on just to accesory got nothing, can somone help me or have any pictures of how they attached the wireing? i am more of a visual person. anything would help.
thanx

red should be a constant power source and yellow tells it when to turn on. Make sure you have a yellow that is switched. Also, finding a good ground inside isn't always easy with all the plastic in cars. Make sure the ground is good with a test light.
Without the car running, it should read zero. No boost, no vaccum.
I think the cigarette lighter is switched and should have a good ground too if you don't want to go into the fuse panel.

extremely simple, Green goes to gauge, red and white to power(orange coming form the cig lighter) black to ground(brown from cig lighter) , orange to light switch(gray from dtc-dsc). I might switch the orange light switch wire to go elsewhere because i like my gauges as dim as possible and you need 12v to trigger the red light switch in the gauge
