LED Sidemarkers?

Aside from getting some LED wedge bulbs, it looks like Outmotoring.com is the only other option for LED sidemarkers.

Has anyone tried these? How bright are they? I'm curious if the LEDs are of the newer SMD design (which are much brighter).

I may cave in and give them a go, though I'm hoping the $44 price tag is for a pair and not each...

Love 'em

I got those very ones and I love them. In fact I love that they do not have a lense over them so you can see the 3 little LEDs. They are very bright. In fact I would say they are brighter than the OEM because the dont have the lense over the bulb. The price is for a set.

I tried some amber 1 watt t10 wedge LEDs. I get hyperflashing and a bulbout. My system is already sensitive because all the rest of my turnsignal bulbs are LED (with load resistors). So on a good day I get a little hyperflashing and an initial bulbout that calms down and clears itself as soon as I use them both. The LED is so much brighter than my stealth (silver painted stock, maybe about equal to stock) I think I will give it a go this week. Hopefully the load resistor will do the trick. At least one NAM'er has experienced hyperflashing with the outmotoring kit you guys are looking at, but the overwhelming majority do not. Let us know how the install goes.

Update: I tried the same T10 1 watt amber bulbs again in the stock housing. I have LED turnsignals with resistors and I went back to 13 ohm rear and 18 ohm front. When I wrote the post above I had 6 ohm load resistors on all 4 corners. This time installing the bulbs with emergency flashers on and they work with no bulbout. I'm not sure what would happen with stock turnsignal bulbs and LED 1W side markers so actually I would not recommend copying me. The 3 watt outmotoring version below is close enough to 5 watts and should not have any bulbout. Or a single story 5 SMD ebay special should be even brighter and more reliable as far as triggering a warning.

If you look at the pics on the link of the first post you can see that it is flat on the side of the car so the viewing angle is 180 really. I dont kn ow if that makes sense but there is not a lense on them so nothing is blocked from seeing it. If someone was on the side of your MINI, they could see it blink regardless of if at an angle. The only they couldnt see it is if they were behind you IMO. Hope that helps. Like I said, they are really nearly flat on the side of the MINI...no lense like the stock ones.

If budget is not an option, these are the nicest LED scuttles I have seen by far. I wish they made something as nice for the R53. They are done by TopCar, the Russian tuner company.

That is sexy time I might look into getting those and upgrade some more. BTW do you have a link to their website?

Its not chrome its a flat silver color. Unless you are really **** you won't even notice that its there. Plus if you want paint over it.
