Electrical LED interior overhead light
LED interior overhead light
If I install a LED in the overhead light in my 06 Mini S
will it still slowly dim out or will it just turn off instead ???
Thanks for the comments .........................

I got all my LED's from http://www.oznium.com/ and they are fantastic to purchase from. The brightness of the lights is amazing.
I put some in the door pockets, under the front seats, in the foot wells, rear speaker pockets... oh too many to list and pictures don't really do it justice. I will post some up if you want to see them, but it's kinda hard to get a good picture.

Well, If you do not mind doing some wiring work, These:http://www.oznium.com/led-modules are amazingly bright. I have a red one wired into my dome, and it makes my car look like either a submarine under "Red Alert", or as a co-worker described it..... The Red light district of Amsterdam. The red is bright enough where i could read a map easily (as long as i didn't have to detect color), and keep night vision. They are also great for wiring into the footwell lights. There are flat spaces just inside (toward the centerline of the car) where the stock lights are that are perfect to stick them too. Its as easy as snip-snip-crimp-crimp. I'd normally recommend soldering the wires, but LEDs use so little power a little extra resistance won't matter.
You can pick up a pack of http://www.oznium.com/dummy-bulbs to make wiring into the dome super easy.

I'll post a vid tonight since it is HARD to photograph LED's. The orange matches the factory dash lighting perfectly.
Phase 1 - I started doing just the front and I put a set of these Flex Strips under the seats and footwells as well as the door pockets. Also did the exterior door handles in red to continue my red theme with the car.
Phase 2 - I put these orange surface mounts in the vents and rear grab handles. Then I replaced the white stock interior light with and LED orange that I don't remember where, but it wasn't Oznium. Wired my side markers with a red led to light the "S" up and a red 15 strip LED my kids bought me from walmart in the hood scoop just to accent it.
Phase 3 - Is work in progress (no rear seat at the moment and the side panels are pulled out for the rear cargo and speaker area. This last winter I got real tired of putting stuff in the boot and that one tiny light just didn't cut it.
Phase 4 - Is to Joey mod my headlights and wire in the Angel Eyes.. only problem is I don't know the measurements yet to order the correct size.
so long story short.. yea I might have over done it just a bit, but I love the look at night. Here's a couple quick shots:

I got a 3 36" flexible light strips and put them in my mini. One in each footwell and then I added a third to light the rear seat. I hid it in the weather striping by the hatch. the light shine directly above the head rests and makes it look as if they are glowing at night. Ill take photos if you want them
Looks awesome AK, when make that Vid make sure and show the scoop. I was thinking of putting some red LEDs in mine, and was wondering how it would look.
Also,(off topic, sorry) I looked at your garage and noticed you were running web spoke wheels and looking for something else. I saw a new set of wheel that I think would look great on your JCW. They are 7 spoke wheels from MOMO, called NEXT. Sorry again for the off topic response.
