yea joey d, keep us informed on the customer service. i've not a had any problem myself. they look pretty good! much much better than the oem bulbs...
i don't know about anyone else but i think halogen (& incandescent) looks so dirty/dingy with any xenon within 50 feet! xenon and led are made for each other!

When you guys say "city lights", are you referring to the bulb that sits above the foglamp? The ones in the "eyelids"?

I got an e-mail from Hoen today:

and then pull out 1-2mm to make the solid connection) is not met it may
flicker or simply not ignite. However simply putting the socket into the
housing can move the bulb again so its tricky.

Sounds like they gave you the run around as to why is doesn't work. If it helps I just installed the LED city lights and had no problems with them. I really think your one LED is defective. In other news, my fog lights were pretty easy to install except for the one on the drivers side. It took me an hour to unplug it because one of the clips kept hanging up and I had to use a screwdriver to unclip it.

I bought yellow parking lamp bulbs from Nokya and they work great. Maybe they have bulbs in a bright white if you guys want a similar look to the xenons.

Just to update the situation:

Hoen took my bulbs back and issued me a refund without any issues. I had to pay for shipping back to California but they didn't charge me the 20% restocking fee so it was all good. I'm going to look for other options for my city lights to get rid of the dirty white look.

I see PIAA makes LEDs, anyone have any experience with them?

This thread must have gotten popular. Every bulb there that can fit a Mini is sold out now. Even tag lights. I hope I can order fast enough when they come back in stock!!

This thread is pretty much the reason I bought new fog and parking lights from Hoen. Maybe it's advertising in disguise and jrcsh6 and mattsenpai set the whole the thing up via Hoen.

update....i've had some bulb out warning but not with regularity. i've noticed if i'm playing around and unlocking more than once to see the cool led's it goes off. i think 3 times now. i'm not concerned as it seems to be triggered in some way. unless it becomes normal i'm cool with it. i LOVE them and have got several compliments.

how are your's davidoyo? you in the same boat with me?

Interesting you posted this because just last night I pressed the unlock door button a couple of times to open up the passenger side of my car. After I got into my Mini and started it I got a bulb out warning and thought to myself NOOOOO! After that happened though it has not come back. I think your right about it having to do something with unlocking the car more than once. So basically yes, I am in the same boat. If this is the only problem I have with the LED's than I am cool with that . I will try to test your theory tonight and report back.

After further research I have concluded that getting a bulb out warning with the LED city lights is directly related to unlocking your car more than once. I have come to this conclusion because recently one of my friends has been riding around with me a lot, so I have had to press the unlock button more than once and to my surprise I have been getting a lot more random bulb out warnings. It does not happens every time I press the unlock button twice, but it happens more randomly(if that makes sense) the more you do it.

I do not have any experience with changing out the bulbs (yet) but would a solution for this, if you have to frequently press the unlock twice, is to reset the option to unlock all doors with one push of the unlock button?

Ya that could be a solution. I am just saying that when you press the unlock button more than once is it just more likely to happen, but it does not happen everytime

How is the heat compared to the stock? Do these actually fit without any problems? On other threads people have complained that the Hoen's don't fit securely. How bright are they compared to the stock bulbs?

Thanks guys.

The HOEN LEDs fit great and run a lot cooler. HOEN's website states that the LEDs bulbs run at 224 degrees. Factory runs at about 280 degrees.

I checked the HOEN LEDs and they are running at about 165 degrees.

When you ordered, did you have to do the "Porsche owners please email to order" on the w5w LED bulbs? Or is that a new thing thanks to us Mini owners?

I know that wasn't there earlier when I was looking and they ran out of stock. Now I am ready to buy but was wandering how to handle it. I don't mind buying at my own risk if they did not work, but wasn't sure if I needed to pretend to be a Porsche owner to even buy them.

Hope we can get them.
