I am actually going for the look in the MINI above, so I got some Nokya hyper yellow fog lights. Do the city driving lights need to be replaced as well? I dont think I have ever used them.

Ahh now I get it. So I need 2 sets of Nokya hyper yellows. One for city lights and the other for fogs. I dont ever use fogs, I guess I will just change the city lights instead of fog then.

he modified the bottom 2/3 of his housing so he could add another W5W bulb... you have to pull the housing out to do so...

Hoen H8 Extreme Yellow fogs and PIAA Ion Plasma yellow city lights. The stock city light bulbs are clear. These pics do not do these lights justice. They are both REAL YELLOW!!

Claud:

Are you using the Hoen H8 in both the parking lamps and the fogs? OOPS! I see what you are doing. I will have to check out the local availability.

Did you buy them online??

I've got the Hoen H8 fogs as well. They are very yellow for sure, but not terribly bright - but can't expect much from 35W(?). I stuck with AZNOptics LED city lights and use the fogs when I want a change (or it's foggy!). I need to get a better pic, like claud says... the picture I have doesn't really represent the look:

Sry first pic was with a shitty p&s, second was with the SLR, can you tell the difference? Lol

They're 3k hid's. They do have yellow vinyl over it, so the amber drl matches. I had LEDs in there, but the cheap ones crap out in a few months so I went back to oem.(the drls)

LED fog light replacement

So I ordered 2pcs Car H8 102 SMD LED White Car Fog Head Light Bulb Lamp. They went in, not perfect (didn't seem to turn all the way in) and they threw warning light. guessing I ordered the wrong thing?
Easier to order transistor or whatever to make these not throw warning light? or return these and buy different ones?

I too like the Yellow Fog Lamp look and also the Yellow Parking Lamps. There is a fellow in some Posts back asked about Yellow Film over the lenses on the parking/fog lamp assembly. Has anyone done that??

Here is something that has been bothering me for a while after reading this entire Thread. The reference to lamps and lights.

The Owners Manual refers to the small lamps above the fogs (in the same housing) as Parking Lamps. They come on always when the headlamps are turned on. Some people are referring to them as "City Lights", which mystifies me since they are always on, city or country. Equally mystifying is why they are called "Parking Lamps" by the factory. Does anyone really turn them while they are parked???!

The DRL (Daytime Running Lamps) are the same as the Low Beam Headlamps, they are just on when the engine is started as opposed to only switched on by the driver.

The Factory Fog Lamps are the bottom 1/2 or 2/3 of that small housing on either side of the front bumper. The UPPER 1/2 or 1/3 are the Factory Parking Lamps. Your vehicle may or may not have come with Factory Fog Lamps. One of my MINI's did and one did not! I wish both had the Factory Fogs.

Then we have Driving Lamps/lights. The factory offers them as an option and they mount on either side of the grill and in front of the grill, so do not confuse DRL with Driving Lamps.

Ronin82, keep us Posted as to the HID Fog install. Yellows??? Yellow is the best fog color for reduced glare back at the driver
