no worries. I appreciate you posting this up.

Those look way better than stock! how long have you had yours in? any issues with premature burn outs?

thanks again.

I just got my pair of PIAA Xtremewhite lights and just installed them. They are perfect!

I just got off the phone with Hoen and I am returning the w5w city lights too

So for anyone still looking for lights to match the Xenon's

-PIAA Xtreme white 194 Are the ones to get if you are not going the LED route with the Day Time Running lights

- AVOID the Hoen W5W City Lights, They are still yellowish.

-Hoen XenonMatch Fogs are a great match

I'll also try and take some pics with my Canon tonight with the right white balance so everyone can see.

Ok here's what I got.
-Xenon's and DRL on
-Xenon's, DRL and Fogs on
No editing
Florescent White balance on my canon gave the most realistic picture to what I see in person.
Lens stopped down to F.22 not to blind the camera.

Awesome! Thanks for posting these pics. The PIAA xtreme whites seem to work much better.

Not a problem at all! I am glad to be a service to the MINI community.
I was just as confused as everyone else on here before I just read through and pulled the trigger... twice.. The Hoen city lights were a miss-fire but the PIAA's are a direct hit
Having the pictures really help so once I got mine all set I wanted to put up a good set of photos using the correct white balance for everyone to see.

Seems like the best way to go is PIAA Xtremewhite lights for city light(eye lids) and Hoen XenonMatch for fogs. Anyone else tried this combination and liked it ? doesnt look like you can have leds on unless you run a resistor on.

I know this thread has been going on for a bit however Iam still undecided lol, I think iam looking at having my eyelid same as my bixenon...any thoughts with ppl who made the mods since last posts where made in late 2010?

btw, I have a question, everyone seems like they have moved the wheel out to have access to the lights hole. Iam running 18''rims with 225 rubbers on. Has anyone tried this mods with big wheels on ? or had to take the wheel out 1st?

thanks

I'm not sure if this will work with 18s since I only have 17" wheels on my JCW, but the owners manual says to turn the wheel in on the side you are trying to access. I found that doesn't leave much room to get at the bulbs. So i turn the wheel outward on the side I am changing and then at least you can get your hand into the receptacle a little easier.

I think I like the wheel off version better haha wouldnt you have to take the bumper off to access them after you take the headlights off anyway?

All I needed to do was turn the wheels in the direction i was working on. Gave me enough room to remove the round cover then remove the connector and the the bulb. The bulb does come out easier if the connector is unplugged.

I just went down to the car and I can guarantee I cant screw the buld counterclockwise. I mean I can access the cap and kinda see the DRL and fogback but the wheel is too big ... I dont have a good grip. I guess I wait this weekend to take the wheel off :( or try the headlights off

+1

Found it easier w/ connector off, and pretty much a no go with it on. Just did it by turning wheels, not removing them. On a 2010 MC S

Yeah the connector keeps the bulb from turning easily.

Forgot to add my crappy cellphone pic to the collection!

Def, take the connectors off and twist, the drivers side was the hardest for me because of what ever tank the connectors are close to. Not a lot of space to grab I thought.

Here are mine with the Piaa Xtreme Whites eyelids & Nokya H8 Arctic Hyper Yellows (2500K). BTW the driver side's connector for the fog light is a ***** to get out! Thanks for everyone's recommendation, I love my new lights
