could you be a bit more descriptive. that sounds like with that depressed they'll come right out? i had the wheels turned out (side according) and the thing off. no biggie...just didn't wanna break the bulb and didn't know how much more pressure my fingers and the bulbs could take haha

Yes... on the sides.. you squeeze it together.. and then while squeezing.. turn... you'll feel it... definitely wear something on your hand for better grip.. Sounds soooo...

I only dealt with that issue on my fogs...but I have a 2008 as well...so maybe it is like that for all bulbs...

is it the bulb that has the things to squeeze? do you push forward toward the lamp at all or anything else?

Just my 2 cents on this... I just changed mine in my 2010 and it was so damn simple. After pulling the access cover, unplug the fog lamp bulb (lower one). you do this by squeezing the tabs on each side, nearest the wires, and wiggle a bit to unplug. Once it's unplugged, just grab the plug housing of the bulb, twist it counter-clockwise. It'll turn maybe 45 degrees, and you'll feel it "unlock" as it were. These are H8 bulbs, they're keyed with 3 metal tabs that lock in place when turning clockwise to install. The base of the bulb also has an orange rubber gasket, that might hang just a bit, but not much if at all.

ah much clearer for me. thanks for your help wolfeee but i was lost. at least now i know exactly where to pull etc.
it's the kind of thing that once you do it, it's super easy i'm thinking. that's how i feel about light bulbs on my previous cars at least...

alrighty got the fogs in. after nearly giving up again i looked at the whole thing as close as i could (black dirt and salt on my forehead from tire...) realized i could pry open the side clips on each side where the bulb meets the wire outlet. not sure why i couldn't get it how you described but doesn't really matter...they're in!

THANKS AGAIN!

once i got the outlet off the bulb base no biggie...just "turn counter clockwise" as the book says

the mini bulb changing instructions are AWFUL for the fog bulb. the marker is pretty right on. but the fog wasn't nearly as easy as the happy little cartoon implies

I just did it too and was pulling my hair out (if I ever catch the guy who wrote that manual!), squeeze the connector at the bottom of the connector. Those tabs pivot outward and it slips right off. You only need one hand in there and it should work. I joined the nokia hyper yellow club too!

I ordered a set of the Hoen LED city lights and put them in today, my passenger side bulb is fine but my driver side bulbs keeps flickering throwing the "bulb out" warning light on about every minute or two. It's pretty annoying to drive around with the "doooo do do doooo" going off all the time. Any thoughts on what the problem might be? It feels like it's seated properly in the socket so I'm not sure.

when you are sure everything is right

and the program does not work

something you are sure of

is wrong

had this over my desk when I was a code cutter . . .

double check that everything is in tight and I'd think about swapping the bulbs side to side and see if the problem moves . . . maybe the bulb itself is faulty.

yea i'm no expert but i'd pull it and reinstall. if that's not working swap from left to right...if you determine it's the "bulb" email the hoen people and let us know about their customer service!

I'm going to fiddle around with it tomorrow and see if I can't figure it out. If no on else had problems with it then I'm going to assume it's something I did or it's a bad bulb.

So I pulled the bulb and refitted it, still had the flickering problem. So I pulled the bulb again and took some fine sand paper to clean off the contacts to make sure it would work properly. Still flickering. I then took some electrical tape and taped around the bulb to insure it wouldn't wiggle at all. Still flickered.

I figured it was from the vibration of the car so I parked in the garage, kept the car off, turned my parking lights on and watched. After about a minute the one bulb started flickering with no movement. I switched sides and the same thing happened.

I guess the bulb is bad. Hopefully Hoen's customer service can straighten this out.

All of these pics look great!!

I was glad to see this thread. Those dingy city/fog lights have bothered me since I bought my Mini and felt they took away from my Xeons.

I was about to buy them but the city lights are out of stock until February 20th!

I guess that timing will be good since my birthday is in March so these will make a great gift for myself. I will just be waiting anxiously until then.

I'm glad I bought my city lights a week. Hopefully when I get them they won't be defective like Joey D's were.
