I was thinking of cutting out a round picture, and putting it over the face of the openometer.

I would really really like to have a temp gauge tho.

Well I did it. I can have both, either a round picture or a temp gauge via the Ultra-Gauge. See my thread here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...penometer.html
