Anyone have the Wolo Bad Boy or Stebel Nautilus Air horns?
Hey Guys, I'm looking into purchasing either, the differences seems to be the Bad Boy is 119db and the Stebel is 139db. Sure Stebel would be better being louder I assume but I can get a cheap deal on the Bad Boy, any recomendations? thanks
I got the stebel for $40. I ended up sticking it in the cowl area on the passenger side as that was the only place I could mount it while still keeping it upright like the instructions spec.
Unfortunately, after about a year I think it might be crapping out on me. I need to pull it off and test it somewhere warm... I have had it freeze up when it got cold which meant that it wouldnt go off at all, so it certainly shouldnt be your primary horn.
The bad boy is likely a clone of the stebel, the different Db rating probably just means it was measured differently.

That's great info thanks, I was planning on using it as primary horn, never really thought about the cold snowy weather, which we do get up here also, thanks again! Anyone else?
Sure Have
If you search the forums for "horn" you will come up with tons of useful knowledge. Or maybe its use-less. Either way, check these out:

I had a pair of Stebel Nautilus horns on my Subaru. Yes, it was loud.
Safety Note to all: when you're under the hood hooking up the relay, be sure and disconnect the horns before you do in case you get it wrong

My OEM horns crapped out so I picked up the bad boy on sale at Harbor Freight, for a temporary fix until I can justify splurging on the Whelen one, installed in about 15min. Just one, not as loud as I was hoping but it'll have to do for about another month or two.
Another Vote for the Stebel
I tucked mine into the passenger side cowl area near the brake plumbing. It works very, very, very well. I wired its relay into the existing horn circuit so they both sound together.https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ilies/grin.gif
