My wipers sometime stay on when I push down on the control stick. Normally, it'll wipe once/twice/three times/etc then stop. But it keeps wiping and nothing will stop it. If I keep pusing down on the control stick, it simply freezes the wipers in place, even if it's in the middle of wiping. And, the only thing that will unfreeze it is to turn off the ignition and turn it on again, then the wipers will go back in place.

What gives?

 

Sure don't know, but since your MINI is a 2006 it's dealer service warranty time. Let us know what the fix is.
