Question about break lights

Ok, I have just about exhausted my searching and have to put it out in a new thread...

I have been having some trouble with graduates from UD (university dumass) not seeing Cecilia when I am breaking.

I would like to modify the break lights to do the blinky thing. If I can do all of them, that would be great, but if not, at least the 3rd break light. I don't understand WHY people can't see me!

I am wondering 1) how to do the 3rd light, and where to get the stuff from, and 2) if it is possible to do the regular break lights...(I have an '06 MCSC)

I tried to do the same mod to my Miata a while back and after lots of research i found out that its illegal in MD unless you are on two wheels. Anyway long story short I did the mod anyway and it was super easy. I'll try and find the link to the product in a sec

Mini Specific:
http://www.gominigo.com/PULSAR.html
http://www.mossmini.com/Shop/ViewPro...eIndexID=58004
Universal:
http://www.kahtec.com/smart_stop.htm

Also I dont know if you have one already or not but LED brake lights make a dramatic difference in increased lumen output and light up speed.

thanks Bart5467 and that7guy!

I have a red MCS so all the lights blend into the color of the car. When the car was stock, it was bad. First step on the early cars was to light up the rear fogs at the same time with one of our Brake Light Kits. Simple and effective. The third brake light PULSAR was a huge improvement of getting people's attention. Very easy install.

Don't flash your side brake lights, only the center. The side ones are reserved for emergency vehicles and will get the attention of the ticket givers.

Please ask any questions and i will be happy to respond.

Alan

i'm REALLY torn between the pulsar from gominigo and the kahtec smart stop. pulsar for mini specs and the kahtec for the delay.

who has the kahtec on their mini? that'll be the deciding factor for me.

Give us until Sunday and your choice will be easier. We introduced a Gen2 Pulsar at AMVIV and I just need to update the website.

If you have questions before Sunday, PM me.

Our Gen2 Pulsar is pulse configurable, meaning you can select Long or Short pulses during install. We have also developed SmartPulse technology, which allows you have the pulsar stay solid in traffic. This can also be be turn off when installed so it will pulse all the time. We have also increased the ability if the pulsar to work on all third brake lights not just LEDs. The unit is also still small and silent.......

Rear Fogs to Brake Lights?

I'm trying to do mods I can do over the weekend and this was one I really wanted to do to have more brake lights visible. So, my wife and I ventured out to the MINI and with me standing behind to figure out which lights I could add as brake lights. As far as I can tell all of my lights are used.
Turn Signal - Top
Brake Light - Bottom
White Reverse Light
Which/What are the lights that are being used as additional brake lights?

Does yours look like this with a center rear fog at the bottom?

Nope.
That's what I couldn't understand from the other posts. They talked like it was a light that was hooked up to nothing. I am going to add that bottom rear brake light as soon as it gets here and tie it into the existing brake lights.
Thanks,
Robert
