Let's see pics of where you chose to put your V1 remote display and why you put it there...

 

Here's mine (forgive the poor photo) -- great for peripheral viewing, not tremendously hot for mute button access. However, I mainly drive highway / country, so don't have too many false alerts.

It's an R53 but I think the basic placeis the best

 

I routed the V1 remote's wire up from the power module (I am using the little dedicated power module tapped into the fuse box for power via an "Add a Fuse" adapter piggybacking off an existing ignition switched fuse) up in the dash and out at the top of the steering wheel where the tach is. I just used double side foam tape to stick the top of the V1 remote to the underside of the lip from the top of the dash and stuck it on next to the Tach.

You can see it well through the steering wheel and it is very discreet (ie. can't see it from outside the driver's side window). You do have to reach around the wheel to hit the mute button, but it isn't terribly inconvenient as my right hand is near there anyways. It's actually just as easy to hit the main volume button/mute button on the main V1 unit's front **** that I have mounted on the windshield just left of the rear view mirror (power cable routed by tucking it into the trim at the driver's side A-pillar and then horizontally along the roof liner at the windshield and coming out just in front of the mirror). I sometimes mount the V1 to the right side of the mirror, but it's harder to reach the volume/mute **** as it's now well behind the rear view mirror.

The nice thing about this remote display placement (as opposed to mounting it to the left of the tach) is your passenger/navigator can see the readings too and reach over and mute the V1 quite easily.

excellent. Which add-a-circuit did you use? (ATO / Mini). And which fuse did you end up attaching to? Were there any clearance issues in the fuse box (any trimming required?)
