Swamp Fox Parade 2014 - 9/6
Just received the registration for this years Swamp Fox Parade. It will be on Saturday Sept. 6th.
I wanted to get an early thread going for some nominations for this years Princess. If anyone has an idea or a nomination, please post.
Further details to come, however it will pretty much be the same time, same meetup point and (this year) snacks, drinks and home made pie at our house afterwards.

Here is a link to the NAM Calendar Entry (<--link) with more detailed information.
You can help Larry and Pan with their planning by clicking on the "I'm attending" link in the calendar. Sometime in the mid-August time frame Larry will need to submit our group entry registration to the parade organizers.

• Meet up at 8:30 AM (or earlier if you want to clean up your car) at the car wash across the street from a mini-mall at the intersection of South 11th Street and Grand Ave.
• Get there via highway 100 (Marion bypass), turn off at East Post Road, go North about 3 blocks. East Post turns into South 11th Street.
• Highway 100 is Collins Road from the West, and from the East it intersects highway 13/151.
• Staging point for the parade is two blocks from meet up point.
• Each car must be registered through me no later than August 16, 2014. I will submit all the registrations at the same time in insure that we will all be together.
• Our registration (group) will be assigned Entry Numbers, which is our position in the parade. I will pass them out at the meeting point.
• We must be in position no later than 9:30 AM.
• Parade starts at 10:15 AM.
• Candy is encouraged however they discourage throwing it from the entry because of the danger of children running among the entry to retrieve it.
• Pam and I will again be hosting snacks, drinks and homemade pie at our place following the parade.
• Still looking for nominations for Princess this year... Please let me know asap if you have ideas

Almost time for the parade...
This year Marion will be celebrating it's 175 birthday; I have made a couple of banners to celebrate that since we don't have a Princess this year.
NOTE: For those of you joining us for lunch at our house, we have provided everything, just bring yourselves. Homemade pies (3 kinds) and two pots of homemade soup; One Chicken Taco and the other Zuppa from a Olive Garden recipe. Both are excellent; I've pre-tasted. Bread sticks and chips for the soup. Water and several different kinds of pop will be on ice.
We missed last year to get our son married. Two years ago it just so happened that the Google Earth snapped a picture of all the MINI's at our place. Can't promise that this year.
