I couldn't help but notice that you said "will" and not "would."

Is there something that you're not telling us?

Who's loving this weather? I took the day to do a full detail on Seamus(the first one since I bought him in February), and he looks SO GOOD. Spring is nearly here!

Aren't those full detailing days SO therapeutic? Good to have another in the local ranks of the OCMD afflicted. And Seamus is looking real good.

I agree! This weather is AWESOME! I can't wait to get out and motor. Gary, I too noticed that on deanman's post. Will? Is one on the boat and on it's way?

rebuttal

I hate to have anyone think I'll be pulling up in one of those fantastic Countrymen anytime soon. Although I am sporting a new $98,000 heart valve, a new MINI won't be an additional purchase in 2011, I'm very sorry to say

Well, I'm glad you cleared that up. We can't have folks just showing up *****-nilly in their brand new MINIs without any advance notice. (Uhhh... ...oops... ... )

Gosh, for the price of that new ticker you could have brought home one of these:

...or put half down on one of these:

I suppose your insurance company might have had something to say about it.

You definitely need to invite him to one of our Meet-n-Eats.

Just too cold this morning to justify a post in the "warm weather" thread. Yeah, it's not officially winter yet...but close enough.

Hope you had great Thanksgiving.

Hoping it's cold at MoDM tomorrow, I turned Molly over to Miah today. Seems she gets a wake-up cough on cold mornings. Here's to a quick EEG finding a simple fix -- maybe only talk therapy

I'll be curious to hear their diagnosis. I've seen a few reports of rough idle in cold conditions with the new N18 engines. Most people immediately leap to the HPFP as a suspect (because of the history and the warranty extension) but that doesn't always seem to be the case. I've also seen a faulty temp sensor as root cause and even the Valvetronic control software.

Edit: Check this out too -- https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post3406561

A couple of times when I've picked up Roheryn in the cold at the MSP parking ramp (after sitting out at ambient temps for several days) I've noticed my idle speed fluctuate a few times in succession by a couple hundred RPM before settling out smoothly after 30 sec or so. I just chalked it up to the ECU momentarily hunting for the right combination of air, fuel, timing, and other temperature-dependent variables. It's been such a rare occurrence that I'm not too worried about it (a heated garage is a good antidote for many ailments). We'll see how things go this winter when it's cold enough out to freeze your Winnebago...

Mini warranty

I just wanted to pass on how pleased I am with the Mini bumper to bumper warranty and Willis Mini in Des Moines. My car has the service contract/agreement until 2013 as well as 1 month left on the 5 year factory warranty.
A couple of weeks ago we went to Willis and had the oil changed @ no charge and yesterday I had a fog light replaced @ no cost. The light had moisture in it and was covered by the 5 year factory warranty. I know the new fog light part was around $150 plus labor so I feel really good about the customer service I've received to date. We even had a 'loaner car" for the 3 hours that our car was at the dealership which was supposed to cost $10 and were not charged for it either.
So far all is good with our decision to purchase our Mini, new friends, great car and very good warranty/customer service!
Happy holidays to all, be safe and enjoy your families. Ron

Jeremiah emailed this morning. He said the techs re-installed the system software yesterday and left Molly2 out in the cold overnight. The report is that the problem appears to be solved, with steady idle and no coughing this morning
